Unsensitive Windows Key

#1 Post by Shadowku » Tue Jan 11, 2011 11:08 am

I just bought a T410 late last month and I find that it's a great laptop after two weeks of use. However I just noticed that the Windows Key on the bottom left of the keyboard is rather unsensitive. If I press it lightly (very lightly, but just hard enough to feel the click) nothing happens. I have to press it harder for it to be recognized. I'm just wondering if this is normal or do I have a faulty keyboard? Perhaps this is even normal on other laptops?

I'm assuming its a bad key. I just called Lenovo Canada and they gave me a Reference number. IT will call me back later.

What usually happens when a keyboard is defective on a Thinkpad that's under warranty?
Will I have to send it in or will they send me a new keyboard for me to replace on my own?

The Windows Key does work but I just have to press a little harder. So sending it in for that seems rediculous.

They will send you a new keyboard by mail or courier, and may (or may not) ask for the old keyboard back.
