Hi, I have a T410 with NVidia Optimus.
However, Photoshop CS4 and CS5 do not work with "Enable OpenGL Drawing" selected. When I installed photoshop, it is selected by default ( I assume it recognizes my graphics card).
From what I read, the NVidia Optimus should work with this setting. However, nothing is working with this setting.
Any ideas?

I saw the same thing on a coworkers T410. Adobe CS5 and Optimus don't seem to get along. I disabled OpenGL in photoshop. Files wouldn't even open with it enabled. Quite disappointed with optimus on the thinkpads. No big battery life increase and a ton of software quirks.

Well, I am glad to see I am not the only one with this issue.
Does anyone know of a fix, patch, driver, etc to solve this?

Does it work if you right click and force it to run on the discrete card?

It is already set to default to use the discrete card.

I've got the same problem using brand new W520 (I know this is T forum, but I don't think in matters in this particular case).
Has anyone able to find solution to this issue other than disabling OpenGL in photoshop or disabling Optimus in BIOS?

I don't know if it is the same issue, but on my T520 Photoshop does open files but it doesn't draw anything on the screen when OpenGL ist enabled and it's running with standard settings. However when I force photoshop.exe to run on the integrated Intel graphics, it works even with OpenGL enabled.

Do upgrade to the latest NVIDIA drivers. They have finally fixed this problem as well as tons of others related to Optimus and CS applications.

The intel card in sandy bridge supports photoshop 100% (probably not the fastest at it, but in theory it's just as fast as the last-gen nvidia)
I'd rather it use the intel than deal with strange glitches arising from switching graphics in a mixed environment (as opposed to full-screen where its either/or)

For what it's worth - Optimus in my T420s works beautifully with Photoshop 5.5, as does the Intel HD graphics. I have my Photoshop set to open with Optimus. Zooming, rotating and panning is "live" - where the action is immediate without manipulating a proxy region first - even with very large images. Several months in, it still gives me a pleasant surprise every time.

My understanding of mixed Optimus/Intel HD set ups is that the two display circuits output the region of the screen under their respective control. If no Optimus-controlled regions are visible on the screen, the Optimus circuits are not used.
