Annoying issue with T400 Fingerprint reader

#1 Post by mattster » Thu Feb 03, 2011 8:55 pm

So I purchased a system at the last Lenovo Warehouse sale. It's been a great system so far, but the one annoying problem I've had with it is really getting to be bothersome. If I am running on battery, the problem isn't there. But if the system is plugged in before I boot, the fingerprint reader will not work. :?: If I unplug the power and reboot, it usually works just fine. I can plug the system back in after swiping to get into windows. The reader still works after that, even if the system goes into standby.

Any ideas? This seems to be a little different then the other issues people have run into with the fingerprint reader .....

Thanks!
Matt

odd.

do you have the latest version of the fpr software installed? if you go into device manager, under "biometric devices", is the checkbox on the power management tab selected allowing the pc to turn off the device to save power?

Oddly enough that was selected. I've disabled that now, so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the tip! :D
