Dear T400 owners,

My battery needs to be replaced and I'm looking for a battery with Panasonic cells.

So I wanted to ask you to look in your battery specs to check if your battery is from Sanyo, Panasonic, or else.

You can check it here: Power Manager (advanced mode) > Battery > under battery details.

For example, mine is:
FRU 42T5262 (Sanyo)

The first link says:
AC adapter & battery accessories - ThinkPad T61 14.1inch widescreen (type 6480, 6481, 7658, 7659, 7660, 7661, 7662, 7663, 7664, 7665)

So you mean to say that the batteries for the T61 are also suitable for the T400?

The second link says:
ThinkPad T/R 14W (14-inch wide) 9 Cell High Capacity Battery - Service parts

So, a battery designed for a '14 inch wide' system is suitable for T61 14,1 / T400, etc..?

That would be great, because that would increases the possibilities.

Although I've contacted IBM parts (Netherlands) and they link to the system service parts page of the relating notebook: click. Although these FRU numbers are not available anymore (they only have; 42T4667 (4cell), 42T4677 (6cell) and 42T4644 (9cell).

dr_st, inspired by your topics here, just yesterday I've started my own on a dutch forum to get some insight in the manufacturer of IBM/Lenovo batteries. Maybe that could help you too. See here.

These are the same batteries, yes.

I purchased a used 42T4678 6 cell on Ebay for $22 dollars last week. I used Sandra and it says Panasonic. It had 121 cycles and 56Wh.
