I did something to my T410 with Windows 7 pro so that I couldn't see any of my ducuments, music or video files. It had something to do with an Outlook pst file. Anyways, I decided to reset my machine to factory default settings. Before I did, I went through Rescue and Recovery, and backed up all of my improtant files (I was able to see them in R + R even though I couldn't in Windows) to en external hard drive.

Now that I've reset my system, I cannot view the directory on the external hard drive with my data. I know it's there, because windows explorer says that over 100gb of data is used, which is about what I put on it, even though the only items visible add up to about 1gb. I've tried plugging the drive in to my wife's computer, but no luck there either.

How can I view these files? I know they were placed in G:\users\myname on my external drive. Please help!!!

Have you tried showing hidden files?
Go to Folder Options > View tab > Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

It's possible that you may have just marked the hidden attribute on everything.
