I have the opportunity to pick up a Lenovo Refurbished Thinkpad T410
Core i5 at 2.53
4Gb Ram
500gig 7200 HDD
6 cell batt
1440 screen
for $719
it was purchased through lenovo but the guy has it on ebay. In box with all accessories with the 1 year expiring in 2/2012
is it a good deal?

for $100-$200 more you can get a new one w/ i5 560m directly from lenovo with better hardware.
Personally, I would never buy a computer off ebay, its not a credible source. the sleazy, eastern european types always lurk around ebay ready to pounce on an easy target to steal money. I'd avoid it at all costs. the last thing you would want to happen is some Russian draining your bank account.
craigslist is another one. avoid it.

I've had good experiences buying Thinkpads off of ebay for years(I do my research and am careful with whom I deal), but if you can get a new one of these for $100 or so price difference, do that instead. Much better deal in the long run. False economy sometimes, when you try to scrimp for the cheapest deal. Go for the better deal, not necessarily the cheapest.
