It's probably impossible to tell but is the touch-pad smooth again? I hate the raised bumps of the T400s and higher touch pads.

The video is too blurry to tell; it could be actual texture or compression artifacts.

If they were to offer a choice between smooth and textured, that'd be a nice way of catering to both sides.

I've compared the pictures found in the first link with similar pictures i've taken from circa the same angle and elevation and it does not look promising :(

The similarity is greater when comparing pictures of T420 and W510 touchpads than when comparing T420 with T61 and my thinkpad travel keyboard.
