T410 - displayport external monitor issue

#1 Post by netrunner » Thu Mar 03, 2011 8:51 am

Hello there,
I have problem with my T410. I have connected external monitor (HP LP2475w) over displayport. Everything is all right until I wake up my NB from suspend. After I wake it up, I have to move mouse (or press some key) to get an image (like monitor was powered down). But then the image is corrupted. Over whole display I can see only one small piece from center of the image (typicaly login image and password field on W7 login screen). It's not a bad resolution, only very zoomed image. I have to unplug displayport cable, open lid, plug cable and close lid. After that is image fine again, but the procedure is very annoying. It doesn't matter if I have it connected directly to NB or to dock. Also the same problem occures when I set up the monitor shutdown in display options from control panels.

Does anyone know the solution?

Thanks.

I found a couple of threads where the OP was describing this exact monitor not sending the correct or a recognizable EDID to the Displayport interface after sleep or suspend. If that is a design issue, then HP would have to address it. I think you're looking at getting a different monitor there, or having HP replace yours if it's under warranty.

You are right, switching to DVI solved the problem.
