T410 external resolution won't go above 1280 x 800

I have a Thinkpad T410 with the Intel graphic adaptor hooked up to a 30" Apple Cinema HD display and I can't get the resolution above 1280x800 (tried both DVI direct as well as a DP -> DVI adaptor).
