T420 Questions: 2560x1600 external display support?

I have the tabook.pdf file which states that maximum external display resolution for all the T420 thinkpads is 2560x1600 via displayport, but it also says that for all the T410 models. So my question is: has anyone gotten their T410 to drive a 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 monitor at native resolution? And the second part of the question is: have you done it without a port replicator or dock?
I guess my concern is that the tabook.pdf seems to say that all their laptops can drive a 30" monitor at native resolution, but i have yet to see it done successfully. I really don't want to get a macbook and put bootcamp on it. Honestly dont know why this is such a hard question to answer. I personally love the aesthetic of the thinkpads so i'm hoping to stick with them.
Also, since the T420 can be customized on Lenovo's site, i went ahead and tried my 'ideal' configuration. There doesnt seem to be an option for rapid drive, i.e. combining an SSD and normal spinning hard drive into one machine. Anyone know differently?
thanks in advance.
