Lenovo System Update not downloading

Hello,

I just installed a W7 upgrade from Vista 64 on my T400. I went to run Lenovo System Update to update the drivers and it returned with an error 75. I went on line and it said I needed to update the registry with the unit type. I put the model and serial number where they suggested with no luck. I then went into the bios and saw there was no unit serial number. I just had the system board replaced and saw the tech enter a new uuid code but it looks like he might have not entered the serial number. I can update any drivers or patches directly from the Lenovo site so it is not critical getting update running but it is nice to have system update running.

The one forum search note I found said the maintenance disk to update the bios is not available. Is it the missing serial number giving me the error or did I not edit the registry correctly?

sounds like similar missteps on the service tech's part. oops!

I was just hoping I did not have to get a tech out again to enter the serial number. I will give Lenovo service a call.
