Random Graphics Degradation on t510

Hello, I have a weird issue going on with a t510 thinkpad with a quadro nvs 3100m graphics adapter. Randomly while on battery (pretty sure always happening when on battery) the graphics will degrade and it will look like i have it in 15 bit or something. Yet nothing on the system acknoledges this, nothing i can find in the event log. I went into the bios and set everything i could find to max performance..

is there something i may be not thinking of checking? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Have you tried another graphics driver version?

No where would I even get another version? I have the latest drivers from nvidia.
