T520 with quad core and discrete graphics now online in US

#1 Post by davidhbrown » Tue Mar 29, 2011 12:27 am

Right on schedule in the wee hours of the 29th.

Now I have to decide between Dell's better support for external storage or Lenovo's better support for external monitors.

The W520 is much cheaper: 2720QM, HD+, 4GB RAM, 9-cell battery, finger print reader, Bluetooth, 320GB 7200rpm hard drive for $1499 vs $1764.

Yeah, that is interesting. I did wind up ordering the W520 myself on the 29th, though with a 2820QM and a few other goodies. (Dell was never able to give me a straight answer about mSATA support.)

FWIW, T520 QC/discrete graphics ordered on the 29th is due for delivery on the 4th (?!). Of course my mem and SATA are a few days out.

If no one has answered the question by then I'll see if I can coax SATA3 out of the C300.
