Low Performance

I have a Thinkpad T410s with the discrete Nvidia nvs 3100m. It sucks, I have heard installing the 310m driver can improve performance, how can I do this?

I have updated my notebook drivers to the latest nVidia 270.51 verde driver, but performance still sucks.

I don't know what I did but in the last week performance dropped massively, I can't even run my old games (eve) which worked fine before :(

If it used to work fine, then you did something wrong elsewhere. If you have the discrete (regular switchable, non-Optimus one) then you need the Lenovo provided drivers.

Try restoring to a restore point from before the issue.

It is the switchable, but I disabled the Optimus, Intel sucks

I am still playing around with the drivers, not sure why they are so slow
The Lenovo provided drivers are no good

I don't think the drivers are to blame unless something happened to them. You said it used to work fine. Can you System Restore to a time when it worked?

I also think you're missing the point of Optimus. You're not supposed to be using the Intel one for demanding applications.

But even Windows aero is too demanding

Intel GPU is an oxymoron

Uh... Aero should run more than fine on the integrated GPU. Aero runs fine on a 945 chipset.

You're doing something wrong.

Try restoring to when it worked.
