T410i : Long BIOS restart.. how do I reflash my BIOS??

#1 Post by sapibobo » Sun Apr 10, 2011 8:38 am

Dear all,

mine is 2518-GNA with Intel Corei5-430M. I just have a weird long windows shutdown problem. It started when i upgraded my memory to PC13333. Later it creates random blue screen. I decided to go back to PC8500 and everything seems fine.

I am not sure since exactly when, but now my system took a long time to shutdown. It seems that the windows and all the green indicators have been turned-off, but i still can hear the fan still running. I have to wait about 1-2 minutes until the fan is off eventually (and green fingerprint-LED indicator is on). Or, i have to disconnect the battery to completely turn-off the system. This is really annoying since i have to shut my system several times a day. Previously, the system shut down almost instantly after windows shuts.

My thought there should be something wrong with my windows. But later i found out, after i change the setting in BIOS "uploaded the default setting" (F9) and then "save settings and restart" (F10), the BIOS it self still take the same time to restart! The BIOS setting must have changed somewhat.

I want to reflashed (current version is 1.35) but the windows utility (and bootable BIOS disc) always prevent me to flash with the reason that i already have the most recent version.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Andrew
