T400 LED screen upgrade

#1 Post by ryan1212 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 2:56 pm

My T400 screen broke today :( My current screen is WGXA+ CCFL FRU 42T0597

What parts would I need to upgrade to a LED Screen, with a camera? Has anyone done this upgrade before?

I am guessing I would need a new bezel, the camera, new cable, LED subcard and the screen itself. What am I forgetting?

Is the WXGA+ LED T400 screen significantly better than the CCFL screen I have?

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like that's all you need. Make sure the cable is for LED screens with camera (might as well get the one with Bluetooth too.

The quality of the WXGA+ panel can vary, but it's very usable except in cases where color accuracy is desired. It'll last longer than a CCFL panel though.

T400- Best CCFL Screen

#3 Post by ryan1212 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 11:44 pm

Thanks, I have been pricing it out and it looks like it will cost $250 for all the parts. I think I will stick with CCFL. I currently have FRU 42T0597, which is the AOU Opteronics screen.
