Stop error 0x0000007 BSOD T510

#1 Post by Charles Krug » Mon May 02, 2011 9:12 am

We have a remote 4314-7NU purchased 12/20/10. O/S is Win 7 Pro 32.
For the past month, the user has been reporting spontaneous system crashes every few days -- not regular, but annoying. The user insists there is no text description following the Stop code. This notebook is not exposed to many changes -- it's mainly used for a remote connection to Citrix & MS Terminal Server.
Before I have the PC returned to me, has anyone experienced & remedied this error?
Thanks!
Jim

Is it 0x0000007E?

Could be the AHCI drivers... Used to occur randomly for me for a month, but went away after mucking with some drivers.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Did a little more digging on error code = 1000007f p1 = 0000008 p2 = b9b40d70
The MS patches issued in February included MS11-006 (KB2483185) "Vulnerability in Windows shell graphics processing could allow remote code execution". This patch has apparently caused the instability on some systems with Intel HD Graphics using a driver older than 6.14.10.5313 (this T510 had 5237). Just loaded 6.14.10.5338, so we'll see if it helps . . .
