Is there a key sequence to put the Windows 7 Desktop on top?

Is there a key sequence to put the Windows 7 Desktop back up, on a T520? If you have several windows open and need to get back to the Desktop without minimizing them or cascading them, how is this accomplished the fastest way?

In Windows 7, if you move the moue over the small button on the far right of the taskbar, you will get a sneak peak of the desktop. Clicking the button minimizes all the windows. Clicking it again restores them back.

Instead of clicking the button you can also use Win+D key shortcut.

To add on to what yak said, if you press win+D or use the "show desktop" bar, it minimizes the programs (unless you just use peek) but if you press the button(s) again, it will restore everything as it was (positions, order...)
