Slower wifi in T420; what gives?

I have a new T420 with CENTADV.-N+WIMAX 6250 wifi. Wifi throughput is much more sluggish than with my old T61p, which has Intel 3945abg wifi.
Is anyone else seeing slower wifi with these new Thinkpads? Since I believe the wifi antenna is in the lid, could the change in performance be due to the smaller screen on my T420 (14") as opposed to my T61p (15.2")?
Thanks.

Check ALL the relevant power settings that impact WiFi on your T420, including the settings in the device driver for the 6250, and make sure they are set in the direction of maximum
perfomance rather than maximum
power saving.
Cheers,
Bill B.

Thanks, Bill. I'll check that when I boot into Windows next time. Presently I'm running Linux, and I don't have the same range of power options as I do under Windows.
