I just got the Lenovo T410 but my touchpad doesn't work...

#1 Post by Samurai » Sat May 14, 2011 12:46 pm

I looked at my mouse settings and it looks like I don't have the UltraNav utility for my mouse. I tried downloading the mouse driver off the website but it did not help. Can someone help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance

Did you try these?

Try hitting Fn+F8 to see if the touchpad is disabled. Also check the BIOS.

Yeah I installed both. I hit Fn+F8 and it says I need to go into BIOS to enable it. I ended up going into BIOS mouse section and it didn't give me an option to turn it on or off. Not sure what else I can do.

It should be under Config > Keyboard/Mouse

hello,
my t410 is out of warranty for few weeks and yesterday i was not able to work with it normally, as the touchpad buttons (both below and above) were not responding.
an hour before that i was connected to this t410 via rdp from work and everything was working (with mouse attached to another computer).
i do not have here mouse to test.
when i choose 'swicth primary and secondary buttons' in mouse properties i'm able to do click with right button and left is still dead.
i also uninstalled all the ultranav driver/software - nothing.
i booted knoppix and there it was painting rectangle, like if the left button was still pressed.
in windows it does not paint anything.
touchpad itself works (i can move the arrow), but clicking to touchpad = nothing.
keyboard works (i can type) altough sometimes strangely, but this could be related to the broken button?
i was just able to disconnect the keyboard flex cable - issue persisted.
can i suppose now the problem is with button below touchpad and a replacement for this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lenovo-Thin ... 2a21c77581
should solve my t410 problem?

ps i was not able to disconnect the cable from touchpad/buttons below it to test, because i cannot see them.

thanks
