Volume/Scrolling/Keypress Issue

#1 Post by charugan » Mon May 23, 2011 12:24 pm

Hi,

I have a T410, and I'm having some weird issues with my keyboard. Basically, when I try to scroll down using the arrow keys, the computer beeps, and then something random happens - sometimes, it goes back a page, sometimes, a menu pops up. Also, when I try to use the volume buttons it'll beep and toggle the scroll log.

Sometimes it doesn't happen this way, but most of the time it does. I hope it's not a hardware problem... does anyone have any ideas?

Is it possible another key (like shift, alt, cntrl) is jammed in a bit? I've seen this issue before and it always turns out another key is being jammed in even though it doesn't look it.

It happens occasionally for me too. Give all of the modifier keys (Ctrl, Shift, Alt, Win) a quick tap to clear them.

unfortunately, didn't work. I even removed all the keys (and broke the alt key clip, fml) and cleaned the area, and it's still doing it. Besides, I don't know if there's any command + volume up that would cause it toggle scroll lock.

Guess I'll have to call support... Luckily I'm on a four-year warranty (with accidental damage).
