What mPCI WiFI card is in it? Is it a Lenovo branded FRU? Have you flashed the BIOS recently?

Another possibility is that your CMOS battery is dying. If this was a laptop you purchased from someone else, they had probably installed a newer generation mini-PCI wifi card that is not supported on a T41, hence generating the 1802 error. To defeat the error message, they may have run the "no-1802" utility discussed here:
http://www.command-tab.com/2006/02/26/t ... error-fix/
The thing about this utility program is that it it will set a certain bit in the CMOS memory which disables the whitelist check (for "unauthorized" network cards) but the error will begin showing up again if your CMOS battery dies or, maybe (just guessing here) is in the process of dying. If you always keep your laptop plugged in, charging your main battery, and never allow your main battery to become completely depleted, I think that can mask a weak/dying CMOS battery. If this is the case then there are a couple things you will have to do:
(1) Replace the CMOS battery
(2) Remove the "unauthorized" mini-PCI wifi card
(3) Run the "no-1802" utility
(4) Reinstall the "unauthorized" mini-PCI wifi card
