Differences between the T420i and the T420

Hey everyone,

I currently own a X61 and a T60. I have been thinking of buying a T420, and right now, with the ongoing 4th of july sale, plus a corporate discount, it's a pretty good deal.

The only problem I have is that I don't quite understand what the difference is between the T420i and the T420. As far as I can see, the only difference is the base processor (i3 vs i5), but other than that the configuration seems the same. I have looked at the tabook, and I don't see any significant difference. Still, the the difference in model nomenclature (that pesky "i") bothers me. Am I missing anything here?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Robert

Nope. The CPU is about the only difference. Some T420s can be "upgraded" with NVIDIA GPUs, but AFAIK none of the T420is can. But that's about it.

Thank you, ThinkRob. I think I will go with the T420i.
