CSS Password Manager does not recognize fingerprint reader

#1 Post by Tim M » Fri Jul 01, 2011 8:49 pm

When I open Password Manager (installed with the latest version of the full CSS) in the system tray, I get the following error message: "The requested operation requires fingerprint authentication, but the device is not installed. Please make sure the device is connected and retry the operation." The green light to the left of the fingerprint reader is not illuminated.

However, I can use my finger swipe to power up the machine, resume from standby, and log into the fingerprint reader application (the green light illuminates appropriately for each of these). There are no conflicts in device manager. I updated to the latest version of Fingerprint Reader, followed by uninstalling the old Password Manager and installing the latest version of the full CSS. Some searching on the web suggests that this is a Lenovo driver issue, but I've yet to stumble across a workaround.

Anybody else having this problem?

Thanks,

Tim

I have the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?
