t420s Weird Request for Help

#1 Post by puma » Sat Jul 09, 2011 8:35 pm

Hey guys, so I ordered and received a new t420s, everything is great. It has been a week, and the other day I go to use my webcam for the first time to try out Google +.. and the image is all blurry. After a bit I notice that the lens cover seems to be foggy or something. I thought maybe there was a film to remove from it, but no. I eventually remove the lens (it is put on with adhesive or something) and I notice on the clear circle part for the lens, there is a blob or I dunno what but the clear lens has something on it which i cannot remove for the life of me. Might even have not been anything on it, but rather is was just damaged. Whatever, i end up not putting it back on the webcam, and the webcam works perfectly.

My question to you good people is.. is it possible to order just that little piece of plastic that is put on top of the webcam???

I do not want to return this laptop AGAIN, it works perfectly except for this little cosmetic damage. If anyone can help there might be a Google plus invite in it for ya!

Thanks

mi

Are you quite certain you have removed the thin, and somewhat hard to see, plastic film that covers the outside of the lens when the laptop comes "out of the box"?

Cheers,

I tried to look for the film, there was none. I tried everything before I pried the thing off.
