T500 memory

Is it worth spending more money on memory, or will the cheapest do the job just as well? Will there be performance boost between a PNY brand module and the most expensive G.Skill, or Crucial? See this link to Newegg:

Also, is there any performance difference between using 2 2GB modules, or 1 4GB under Windows 7 64?

In my opinion PNY is actually quality RAM. I'd go for it if the price saving is substantial, but for $3 more I'd buy the Crucial :).

I think the T500 will allow use of Dual Channel memory, in which case I would go for 2 x 2 instead of 1 x 4. I don't know how much of a performance difference there would be.

The only advantage I can see with 1 x 4 right now would be if you ever plan on going to 8gb, you could get 1 more 4gb stick rather than having to replace both 2gb sticks.

Future expansion I guess. Personally, I would go 2 x 2 or 2 x 4. Good idea to match sticks too.

T500 does use dual channel.

If you want 2 x 2GB, I have them available in the forum marketplace for $20 delivered (I was using them in a T500) --> http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=96740

Will all those speeds run on a T500? Is there a spec sheet I can find anywhere?
