PCDRSRVC disrupts my system

#1 Post by fcampbel » Tue Aug 09, 2011 1:25 pm

I have a T520, downgraded to XP, running MaxiVista MirrorPro Ver. 3. I am controlling two other thinkpads through MaxiVista. Every day at 1:00 pm something disrupts my system, disconnecting MaxiVista, crashing WordPerfect, and constantly refreshing the screen so the mouse keeps returning to the center and becomes unusable. Whenever I manage to regain control of the system, usually by CTRL+ALT+DEL and using Windows Task Manager, I discover that a process called pcdr(something) is using more than 100,000K of memory. I finally thought to check the Event Viewer and discovered that WMI Performance Adapter service starts every day at 1:00 pm. Then it is "successfully sent a start control." Then it enters the stopped state. Then the "PCDRSRVC ... Kernel Mode Service Helper Driver service was successfully sent a start control." It appears that PC Doctor is what is disrupting my daily work. Does anyone know how to reschedule this or stop it? PC Doctor used to be easy to find on my older computers. Now I can't find it.

NEVER MIND, I THINK I FOUND IT IN THE SCHEDULED TASKS. I HAVE DISABLED SystemToolsDailyTest. If that does not fix the problem, I'll be back.

Thanks.
