Is there any way to increase the speaker volume on a T520? Third party application or other? The T520 speaker volume is very average to under whelming, has anyone found a way to boost the volume?

You can mess around with the equalizer settings in SmartAudio (PeterTWJ has a set of settings over on Lenovo forums) or use something thirdparty like SRS HD Audio Labs.

Tried to work with the SmartAudio and could not boost the speakers, as well downloaded the test version of SRS HD and it did not boost speakers either. Any additional thoughts or suggestions?

Not sure... SRS boosted the perceived volume for my T400 by turning up the settings a certain way (essentially maxing out all of the sliders except for Limiter, which was at minimum).

After installing SRS, go into Windows Sound, open the Conexant properties, and set it's volume to maximum. Volume control is now done through the SRS volume value (hotkeys will also change this number, as will Windows sliders).

Have you tried checking Disable All Enhancements?

Which applications are you using? Just the default Windows 7 or are you watching videos in WinDVD or VLC Media player?

I know that if you go into the SmartAudio control panel and max out the equalizer (all frequencies) you can get louder sound.

For Corel WinDVD, go into the options, max out the EQ.

For VLC, just turn it up in the main window (it goes to 200%).

Hope that helps.

Totally not going to distort your audio at all.

Guys thanks for your suggestions. In the past week, I have tried different adjustments and settings with SRS and Smart Audio, still not able to boost beyond standard Windows 7 volume. Most of the audio I need to hear is on You Tube. Unless anyone has some other suggestions, I may be at the point of looking to purchase some external speakers to resolve this. Maybe some blue tooth speakers with a good volume control may be the only way?
