I am looking get a pair of 23" 1920x1080 monitors to use at university for my T420. I have the NVidia 4200M in there, so I believe that I can connect two monitors to it whilst using the laptops display at the same time, is this correct?
I don't want to have to fork out for a port replicator as they're over £100 in the UK, so I've been looking at getting a VGA splitter which is essentially a VGA cable that as 2 other VGA ports on the end of it. Will this allow me to connect the two monitors successfully?
Also, if not, is there a DP to DVI/VGA option available? Would this also work?
I can't wait to have 5440 pixels by (at most) 1080 pixels of screen space for my ThinkPad, programming will be blissful with it.
Using a VGA splitter to connect 2 monitors?
