Hi,

I got a new SSD, and want to ask if it is possible to copy the recovery partion to it?? i go the T420S.

I am not asking for how to make recovery disks - because I not want to bring disks around with me in case of need of system restore.

Any suggestions???

THANKS

1. If your new SSD is an mSATA drive, I would consider leaving the recovery partition on the old data drive to save space on the mSATA one.

2. If you use R&R to "recover" onto the new drive, it will create a new recovery partition.

Alternately, cloning software, such as Ghost Corporate 10.5.1, will successfully clone both the Recovery parition and any Windows 7 partitions (including 64- bit versions).

Yep. I recently used CloneZilla to clone a hard disk to a new one, including recovery partition. I just don't think that would realign sectors, if that's an issue, and don't know enough to recommend paid products due to lack of recent use.

Thanks for the answers. I think I wil just make a clone of the drive on a usb, and keep that with me during travel,
