New T520 overheated. Return?

#1 Post by jonathanmedwards » Tue Aug 30, 2011 5:22 pm

My new T520 (i7, GMA graphics) overheated within the first 4 hours of using it. It reported FAN ERROR on the screen and shut down. Wouldn't reboot till it cooled down. But I can't reproduce the problem, even by running BurnInTest. Could this have been a weird transient problem or do these things tend to eventually recur? Thanks for any advice.

I'd return it.
