TrackPoint/Mouse hypersensitivity

Hello --

I'm running a month old T520 with the Synaptics Touchpad and standard TrackPoint. I've disabled the TouchPad since I never use it.

Now and again (it is not consistent) the TrackPoint will go hypersensitive... zooming all over the place, reading a push on the pin as a tap and generally making it impossible to use my computer. When I plug in a stand-alone mouse I get the same behavior.

My drivers are all current. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to when it goes batsh*t. Any ideas as to what the issue is? Because I have the same problem with an external mouse as well, I suspect the problem isn't crumbs in the TrackPoint.
