Intel N 6300, eBay, Shipped From China - Reliable Source?

My first purchase (Amazon) yielded no results as the BIOS would not recognize the card without a Lenovo FRU number. Now that the prices came down a bit I have been browsing eBay for a suitable card with the 60Y3193 FRU part number. The cheapest variants are the ones shipped from China, but before pulling the trigger, I am wondering if these cards are in fact authentic Intel products and not knock-off's.
Anyone have any experience with this?

It's the real thing! [Unlikely anyone would bother counterfeiting a low volume item worth only a few dollars!]

Good to know. Anyone actually order one of these though?

I'm thinking about gettin gone of these for my 520 as well. Just concerned that the parts list has an FRU of 6OY3233 rather than the 3193.
Wondering if the 3193 be compatible.

FRU #60Y3233 replaced FRU #60Y3193. Any machine which accepts one will accept the other.

Thanks for that. I've gone ahead and bought this one - hopefully it will do the trick.

That's what I would think however I read people have re-marked and re-sold engineering sample cards, and while doing so misspelling the word "Centrino" on them. If this is true I could kinda see why Lenovo locks the BIOS to accept it's own cards.

I believe this is the same card I ordered from eBay. I received it this week and installed it in my T420 tonight. It seems to work fine. YMMV of course, and I couldn't get the seller to give me a straight answer as to whether it would work in my machine, which initially gave me the willies, but I'm satisfied so far.

Good to know that, thank you. Any noticeable gains with the extra antenna?

You're welcome. Browsing and cloud performance seems a little snappier, if it's not my imagination. I have only used it at home so far. I can't remember how many networks I used to be able to see here, but I can now see 11 (we live in a row of condos). I can definitely say it's not any worse than the Wireless N 1000.
ETA: I can definitely see more networks at work, where I'm surrounded by professional offices.

Well, it arrived, has the FRU 60Y3193 printed on it, and I am still getting the 1802 error code. Starting to get a bit frustrating. Did you load the driver prior to installing it?

I should have taken a picture before installing. I'm not sure which FRU I have. In my case, I installed the part and it was automatically recognized, and a default driver installed. Then I installed the Intel software.

On my T410s I got an extra bar on my home network vs. the Realtek card.

Does the T400s support the 6300 in the first place? I thought the T410s and newer laptops take the 6300 and the the T400s takes the 5300? If this is the case you might have to hack the BIOS to get it working.

Have now got this, installed, and seems to work just fine. I installed the card then downloaded a driver using Lenovo System Update, and all good.
