Thinkpad T410 - Fitting integrated Camera

So, the Thinkpad T410 I bought didn't come with an integrated camera, there was a little plastic panel covering where it normally is. I recently bought one online, with the appropriate cover.
Having fitted it I'm finding it's not being recognised at all. Normally when you add a component or plug something in it's recognised in windows device manager, but this isn't appearing at all (even after scanning for new hardware).
I've installed all the drivers and software (Thinkpad Communications (although when pressing that it's only showing settings for microphone and no sign on camera)), but still nothing.
Someone online (after googling) said something about going into bios and checking the I/O ports. I've done that but they're all enabled and none of them mention anything camera related.
Any ideas? My immediate thought is that there is either a problem with the camera or the wire connected to it, as normally windows would pick up new hardware and then complain about drivers later.
