I want to replace my WXGA (1280x800) Matte LED to WSXGA+ (1680x1050) Matte CCFL.
But my inverter card has jack for ribbon cable (LED) and I need for another inverter card with 2 pin jack (CCFL). Am I right?
Could you tell me FRU of CCFL inverter card for SL500?
UPD. My inverter card 42W7997

Just curious, what would you like to do so...?
Cheers.

Why do I want replace the LCD? WXGA (1280x800) is awful.
So, is it possible?
Maybe I was mistaken in the title of this topic. I don't want to replace the backlight of my LCD. I want to use another LCD (1680x1050, CCFL). But there is a problem - different inverter card.

You're right. I cann't find the part number of this card in manual.
LED 1280x800

CCFL 1680x1050

42W7997
I don't understand.

My bad, late at night... : )
There's a "LED control card" listed as 42W8219. Perhaps that's the "inverter card" for the LED-backlight screens.
The one you shown in the OP looks like 42W8219. 42W7997 looks differently if I'm not mistaken.
Cheers.

Check also the LCD cable - part numbers for CCFL are different - 44c5375 and 44c9957.

So, I have 42W8219 and I need this 42W7997 ?

Image is not very clean. Does it have slot for 2 pin jack?
My LCD cable 44c5375 (30 pin).

Seems that the cable from the inverter/control board to the screen is different...
Not sure about the cable from mainboard to the screen.
Cheers.
Edit: Anything informative in the HMM (

But can I replace it by XWGA+ LED (1440x900)? I mean, is it also compatible and replaceable with my machine, though it is different in pixels?
I do not see why not. If your T400 already has an LED screen in it the swap with the WXGA+ LED screen should be painless and fairly easy.
