Adding 5Ghz to SL410 with Intel 1000 BGN

I have a SL410 with Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN. I will be upgrading to a dual band router this weekend (Netgear N750) which has 5Ghz capability. I'd like to make use of that, but if I understand correctly, the Intel 1000 does not have that capability.

Can someone recommend a card that will do this, and will not have white-list issues etc. I know I could just add a USB dongle, but I'd prefer to have the unit integrated.

Also, is this an easy mod?

Thanks!

According to the ThinkPad SL410, L410, SL510, and L510 Hardware Maintenance Manual (Page 132) - The Lenovo branded Intel WiFi Link 5100 - FRU: 43Y6517 supports both 2.4 & 5.0 GHz spectra and should be whitelisted for your SL410

I found another card on Ebay that the seller indicates is for Thinkpad.
It's an Intel N6200

3 questions...
1. Is this on the whitelist?
2. Is this an easy mod?
3. Is the Wi-fi card accessable from the bottom of the PC without removing the keyboard, etc?

Thanks!

Usually only cards listed in the Hardware Maintenance Manual are whitelisted - The Intel 6200 is not listed
To get access to the WiFi card, you need to remove the Palm rest assembly & associated connectors carefully - See pages 76 to 79 of Hardware Maintenance Manual
