Sl500 Broken hinge, causes black screen sometimes

Hi, I have a Thinkpad SL500 that's seen some better days. I broke the left hinge. I hear there is a magnetic switch in the volume control panel, well that makes sense because in order to get the screen to light up I need to wiggle the lid in the right place. It's frustrating 
. The metal piece that holds the hinge to the motherboard/metal chassis is broken. I was thinking maybe epoxy would glue it sufficiently? Or maybe some kind of miniature clamp? I can take pictures when I get my phone back on Monday. Well anyway I'm hoping someone else has had this happen, I'd appreciate your ideas. Thanks
