SL410, problems after LCD replacement.

#1 Post by sl410_user » Sat Dec 08, 2012 12:48 am

My LCD (lp140wh1-tla1) in SL410 was broken and i bought a generic one from ebay. But looks, like it have wrong/corrupted EDID, because in every OS except Ubuntu 12.04 i got the 1280*800 resolution, but i need 1366*768.

How can i fix it ? Maybe somebody have edid binary file from lp140wh1-tla1 ?

First thing, does the replacement panel have exactly the same part number as the original one?

Second, if Ubuntu is reading the correct resolution from the EDID chip, the EDID must be correct. What is "every OS except Ubuntu" that you have tried? Maybe you just need to update your monitor .inf file, or manually set the resolution.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

I am not sure, but 99% that no.

Only Ubuntu 12.04 works correctly.
Ubuntu 12.10 --> fail, 1280*800
Windows XP --> fail, 1280*800
Windows 8 --> fail, 1280*800
manually set the resolution
There is just no my resolution in list.
