L412 0585 hard drive

#1 Post by L4120585 » Mon Jul 01, 2013 7:48 am

What is the best solution if you want to add an additional hard drive to the Thinkpad L412 (0585-W8D) ?
I have a hard drive (OCZ Agility 3 20nm SATA 3 SSD) which I dont use, would that be compatible?
The hard drive that is already installed is a
Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9160412AS,160 GB,internal 2.5"
Can I use this (ThinkPad 12.7mm Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III )with the two hard drives I have mentioned?

The OS installed is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and the
CPU is Intel Core i5 M 520 @ 2.40GHz, 2394 Mhz, 2 Core

Welcome to the forum.
You'd need an adapter like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/290609121564
Remove your CD/DVD drive.
Remove the small metal clip (next to the SATA connector) that holds that drive in the ultrabay, and put it on the new SATA adapter if necessary.
Then put your SSD (or any other SATA hard drive) in the adapter, and stick that in your laptop.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
