Just received a new L540.
The guy who's setting it up for me wants a full charge on the battery.
I have not turned this laptop on yet. I just plugged it in to charge the battery. The red indicator light on the cover blinks twice and then goes off.
How do I know if this thing is taking a charge. My T500 shows a charging battery indicator as well as a sleep mode indicator. This L540 does not indicate that it's plugged in.
Thanks, John

Re: L540 status indicator?
Switch it on and check the battery status in Windows.

Re: L540 status indicator?
Thanks RBS.
I knew I could see the battery status if I turned on the laptop.
I was looking for some type of external indicator that I was plugged in w/o have to login to be sure.
Like I said, on my T500 I could tell I was plugged in and charging from across the room from the lighted icons on the lid when it's closed.
Thanks for getting back to me.
