Re: SL410K - Fun Times Ahead!
I am currently trying reinstall Windows, but it definitely looks like a graphics card issue. The Windows logo would flash in several places in the space of a few seconds and the flickering lines are persisting. The heatsink feels hot to the touch but the fan is blowing out cold air. Meanwhile, the table that it is sitting on is very hot. The only thing I remember doing before this happened is opening up the back cover to dust off the fans. I don't think I damaged anything hardware wise.

Ok, comletely reinstalling the OS solved that problem, although I have a feeling my GPU will fail one day.

Hi,
It's been a while. My SL410k has been a great daily driver (a bit slow, however) for several months. However, I lost all audio output today. How should I diagnose the problem? Even using headphones doesn't work.

Boot from a Linux live USB and test the audio there. If it still doesn't have sound, then it's more likely a hardware issue.thealphaoverseer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 5:14 amHi,

Thanks! I'm new to Linux. Which distro do you recommend? By the way, the issue resolved itself, almost magically. I still have no idea why. I tried restarting my device, shutting it down then booting it up, with no success. But then after Windows updated itself, it started working again! How strange.
