SL has Shiny Black Lid!

Can't believe they did this.

I just can't believe it, now it looks like a flamboyant HP, no respect for Lenovo.

besides the s30, the 10th anniversary limited edition thinkpad X30 also had a mirage black lid.

no, in my mind the thinkpad is no nonsense flat black.

and wow, they removed the double screen latch. WTH is Lenovo doing? an wait... the steel hinges are also gone.

Now it's almost exactly like my Sony Vaio!

No thinkvantage suite on SL series either ... apparently to keep costs down.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Rules of the road :thumbs-UP:

If that's the case then I don't understand why they didn't just put SL line under the ideaPad badge instead.

Marketing... Thinkpads for "business" (cough), Ideapads for consumers.

Steel hinges are still there, like in the old T20 series... under the plastic cover.
And to be honest, at about half of the Thinkpads in our office, one of the screen latches were broken after a year... see?

I am excited, the SL might be something for me.

What I don't understand is why they call them SL series. Because my Mercedes SL 500 is actually top of the line and not the cheap model. Bizarre!

Just kidding....!
