Notice to all: The ThinkPad SL series uses IdeaPad firmware
Posted: Tue Oct 21, 2008 11:30 am
The ThinkPad SL series uses IdeaPad firmware, so, for all intents and purposes, it is an IdeaPad for the Operating System.
This means most of the information that is ThinkPad-specific does not apply to the ThinkPad SL. It should be thought of as an enhanced IdeaPad.
Please keep this in mind before pestering others about ThinkPad-specific utilities and drivers not working.
If you have any doubts, look at the BIOS DMI information: it is a "Boxster" like the other IdeaPads. For further proof, compare its ACPI DSDT table with an IdeaPad's and with a T/X/R-series ThinkPad's.
