I'm a little upset I barely missed the sale on the SL300...my T61p didn't sell fast enough. I'm still really looking into buying one, and noticed they weren't listed on Lenovo's "SL-Series" page. Seems the sale ended prematurely and they've been gone ever since.

Anyone have any insight? Could it be that they took them down for changes in the configurations, and they'll be back tomorrow, after the sale ends? I'd like to price one out and do some comparisons, and I can't be without a laptop for too long.

You're swapping a T61p for an SL series? Why?

Size. And the X30x are too pricy.

The sale did not end early, nor were they taken down for changes. They simply sold out. Thus they were removed until Lenovo can make them available again.

And yeah, T61p for SL seems illogical to a degree, right? The battery on my T61p died, and even when it worked I never got more than about 2 hours with it. So instead of shelling out $100 for a new battery I decided to sell the T61p. I'm a college engineering student, and the 15" screen+9-cell was a pain to carry around (especially the poor battery life). Also, the T61p far exceeded my computing needs. The 13.3" screen on the SL300 is very appealing to me, and the 3-4-5 hour battery life (depending on size). I'd spring for a T400 no questions asked, but again, college student, and the sale of my old T61p in conjunction with buying a lower-priced notebook would free up a little spending money for myself.

I got an SL300 from buy.com then I spent extra for better RAM and onside warranty total still came down to less than $1000 I use the laptop for work daily and it's working fine.
