SL410 keyboard and battery

#1 Post by Bojje » Sun Feb 28, 2010 11:20 am

I am looking to buy a computer for my mother, she needs a simple machine that can take some abuse.
I don't know if I should go with the SL410/SL510 or the R500, any advice?
Furthermore, sine the SL is only a semi thinkpad, does it still have user upgradeable HDD/ram and user removable keyboard? What about the R?
I was also thinking of ordering it with a 9 cell and save the 60 dollars by just switching the battery to my 6 cell. I have a W500 thinkpad.
Is there anything else I should know?

Definitely not the R510 because it doesn't exist and never will. Did you mean R500?

Ah, yes, I just figured they would also give the R series an update. But yeah, the R series doesn't really fill any niche anymore, now that the T series and SL series fill the low and mid level 15-14 inches.
But yeah, I still need help.
