SL300 - upgrade with SL9600 or SU9400 CPU

Hallo,
is it possible to upgrade with such CPUs? These CPUs are often ES samples ...
Normally they should work because they are normal Penryn CPUs.
The question is if there is a whitelist issue like when upgrading WLAN cards.

Thanks

at first: sorry if my english isnt too good, because im from germany and only speak "school english" 8)

i have "upgraded" my SL300 with a socketed SU9400 ES CPU.
Nobody could tell me if it works, so i did it "try and error" ... and it works too.
I did this, because i do not need CPU power. Games that run smooth with the Geforce G105m do not need more CPU power than the SU9400 offers. Other things like video encoding etc. I just dont do...
BUT ... the SU9400 has minimum vcore of 0,875V which is the same as every Pxxxx CPU has. So you have no advantage when it comes to battery life. If you lock your P CPU at minimum clock speed, battery life will be the same. When i have time again i will make a pinmod to reduce the vcore about 0,1V. I hope that this will show results ...
The main problem seems to be the Geforce G105m. With all off (WLAN, WWAN, BT etc.) at minimum display brightness at idle i get 11,5W which is quite bad when you compare the 8W of books with gma4500.
I have already found the tool "nvidia inspector" which is quite new and already looks nice. But you still have not the option to reduce the minimum vcore (0,9V) of the geforce...
If sb. knows how to enhance battery life of the sl300, pls post...
