SL510 - BIOS Model Type issue

The BIOS on my new work SL510 does not have a model type listed. This is causing the registry to generate "TP-6J__" under HKLM/hardware/acpi/.

This causes thinkvantage not to work and if i manually rename the registry entry it goes back to the way it was before after I reboot the machine.

I also tried to update the model number myself using thinkvantage bios update but the model number appears as INVA LID.

any suggestions please?

Do a forum search for HMD. It is a proprietary Lenovo diskette, so we can't discuss how to get it here.

ugh so many broken links and pages to browse and no time to do it. i think i may just have procurement return this machine
