SL 410 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 - any experience?

#1 Post by zlad » Mon May 10, 2010 5:05 pm

Hi!

I should buy a laptop to my brother. Prevoiusly I bought an SL 510 for my girlfirend and it works well for home using. Now I need a smaller one and I'm thinking about an SL 410 with C2D P7570 and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570. The processor is more than enough but I'm afraid because of the video card. Is anybody here who owns an SL 410 with this card? Could you share your experience about the heating and the system noise? I know that the integrated graphics keeps the system cooler but in Hungary there is no option to configure my order. I have to buy what they offered and I would like to buy this machine because of the relatively powerful processor that comes with an 25W TDP. Thanks in advance. Sorry for my possible grammatical errors.:)

Hi,
It's been a while since you posted your note,I am sure you have bought your laptop by now,but I am going to reply anyway.I just bought an SL 410 with the specs you mentioned about 6 weeks ago.I haven't played any games with it as I am not a gamer, but It does get hot after watching about 30 minutes of a movie from the hard drive, and by hot I do don't mean burning hot.I mean hot compared to my other 2 thinkpads. They don't get hot even after watching 7 hrs of movies. They just don't get hot no matter what I do with them.

Nautical,
