Touchpad and heat problems

Hi everyone,
I just bought my 3rd Thinkpad which is an SL410 DLG.I am having a terrible time with the touchpad, it is not sensitive to touch sometimes and I often have to tap on it 3 or 4 times to get it to recognize my touch.The pad texture is rough and not smooth like my other Thinkpads and that makes me not be able to control the movement of my finger on the pad easily.
The second problem I have with it is CPU getting hot after only 30 mintuts of watching a movie from the hard disk.My other Thinkpads work for 6-7 hours without getting hot at all.
I would like to know if anyone is having the same problems with their SL410s.Please let me know
