Flashed Bios With Update Now PC Won't Do Anything

#1 Post by bazza22 » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:51 am

Hi All,

I am new here but have tried to find information about what I have messed up, if I am asking a same question someone else had I apologies but I have searched for days for an answer to my problem without any luck.
I have an SL500 which was playing up very badly kept getting the BSOD so I decided to update the BIOS on it. Now I'm really in trouble!
I downloaded the update from Lenovo and put it in the cd drive all seemed to go OK asked the usual questions and I answered yes, all OK it said take out the disc and do not power off PC. OK left it for three hours, nothing but a black screen, at this point I have assumed something has gone wrong so I turned it off, tried rebooting, nothing only the CD drive works. USB won't work or anything. I think the keyboard is OK and fan is running.
Update was 86uj01uc I think, sorry been messing around for 5 days now, getting a little bit stressed.
Original BIOS was B11039001 System 6AET58WW.
I have tried to sort this using various different ways including Crisis Disc with no joy anyone got any ideas for me would be gratefully recieved. I have updated BIOS many times before on different machines and never had a problem until now. I think the chip probably needs replacing but was hoping someone would know a way around it here!

Thanks in anticipation.
Baz (FED UP) :(

Is there any warranty left on this SL500? If not, then you'll be needing a new systemboard.
